What is AFLAS?


The aim of AFLAS is to promotes through international co-operation Asian Congresses on Laboratory Animal Science for the purpose of reviewing scientific, technical and educational problems in Laboratory Animal Science, to develop other relevant activities in the interest of Laboratory Animal Science, and to contribute to animal welfare.


AFLAS Congress


AFLAS Congress is taking place every two years at the seat of the member associations or societies. A large number of scientific and educational presentations are made at the congress.

First Congress was held in Nagasaki, Japan, on May 21-22, 2004.
Second Congress was held in Jeju, Korea, on August 30- September 1, 2006.
Third congress was held in Beijing, China on September 27-29, 2008.
Fourth congress was held in Taipei, Taiwan on November 9-11, 2010.
Fifth congress was held in Bangkok,  Thailand in October, 2012.
Sixth congress was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in November, 2014.
Seventh congress was held in Singapore in November, 2016.
Eighth congress was held in Bangalore, India in November, 2018.
Ninth congress will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2020.
Tenth congress is planned in Korea, in 2022.
